Portugal head coach, Jorge Jesus, has insisted that he does not know why Cristiano Ronaldo retired from international football.
Ronaldo made his decision public in a social media video on Friday.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Jesus was quizzed about the 41-year-old stepping aside from the national team.
He replied: “I don’t know. You should ask him.
"What I know for sure is that Cristiano and I worked together for a year.
“It was a happy time, and we won the title with the club we were at."
Ronaldo won the Saudi Pro League title while Jesus was in charge of Al-Nassr last season.
